NEEPCO Successfully Conducted Overseas Video Conferencing Session

On the 9th December, 2015, IT Department of NEEPCO has successfully conducted a first of its kind Overseas Video Conferencing session between KFW, Frankfurt Germany, NEEPCO Design Office, Guwahati and NEEPCO Corporate Office, Shillong. The session was attended by Director (Technical), NEEPCO Shri Utpal Moral along with Design wing officials from Guwahati, Director (Finance) Mr. A.G. West Kharkongor, Executive Director (CPM) Mr. M.D. Roy and GM (IT) Mr. A.K. Sarmah along with officials from IT Department, CPM Department, office of the CMD and Director (Technical), Shillong and KFW officials from Frankfurt, Germany. The Video Conferencing session continued without any interruption for more than three hours involving remote presentation by KFW, discussion on various Technical Drawings and Project Planning shared remotely through the facility. The Video Conferencing facility has provided a convenient way of effective communication while at the same time saving a great deal of time and money. The Video Conferencing session involved a mix of different communication channels in a seamless way. While KFW was connected to the Video Conferencing system from Germany using BSNL Internet Leased Line, Guwahati office of NEEPCO was connected through VSAT. Till now, the Video Conferencing facility was restricted to use within NEEPCO offices only. However, IT Department, NEEPCO has recently extended the facility by using Video Firewall to allow participants outside of NEEPCO to engage with the Video Conferencing system in a convenient way. The successful Video Conferencing session between NEEPCO and KFW, Germany has opened up a new way of engagement with different stakeholders of NEEPCO. M/s KFW was impressed with the Video Conferencing experience facilitated by NEEPCO and expressed their desire to use this facility extensively in future which affords both the parties the opportunity to conduct meetings in a cost effective and time saving manner.
