Signing of MoA Between Government of Meghalaya & NEEPCO For Development of Wah Umiam Stage-I (50 MW) and Wah Umiam Stage-II (100 MW) Hydro Electric Projects on Tuesday, the 25th of October 2022

NEEPCO on 25^th October 2022 inked Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Govt of Meghalaya for the development of 50 MW Wah Umiam Stage-I and 100 MW Wah Umiam Stage-II Hydro Electric Projects. The MoAs were signed by Shri D. D. Shira, Joint Secretary, Power Department, Meghalaya and Shri Anil Kumar, Director (Personnel) from NEEPCO side in august presence of the Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of Meghalaya Shri P. Tynsong, Shri Abdus Saleh, Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board, Shri Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary (Power) and other Officers of Govt. Meghalaya. From NEEPCO Shri B. Maharana, Director (Finance), and other officers were present. At the outset, Shri A. Choudhury, Executive Director (Corporate Planning) welcomed all the dignitaries. The Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction and praised NEEPCO’s role and present state of affairs for development of hydro sector in the NE Region. The Director (Personnel) assured expeditious execution of the Projects with necessary supports for the State Government. Shri B. Maharana, Director (Finance), NEEPCO expressed that on signing of these MoAs, the presence of NEEPCO and developmental activities in the state shall further expand and NEEPCO is also expecting some more projects in other river basins in the state.
